Angela Mortimer supports the Wellbeing of Women charity
As International Women's Day approaches (Tues 8th March 2016) we have sat, considering the various ways we can mark this special occasion and raise more awareness about its background and purpose. This is why the Angela Mortimer Group have very recently become proud sponsors of Wellbeing of Women (WOW), a charity that dedicates itself to improving the health of women and babies by fundraising for medical research in all areas of gynaecological and reproductive health.
International Women's Day
The earliest observance of a 'Women's Day' was in New York in February 1909. Since then, it has become an internationally recognised day, celebrated by women worldwide. The aim of International Women's Day is to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women in history and the present day. It also gives us an opportunity to encourage younger generations and generations to come to embrace the day and use it as a form of motivation for themselves in their working/educational/day-to-day lives.
In order to fight for such a good cause, we will also be supporting WOW in participating in their various fundraising activities taking place throughout the UK, from running the WOW Bath half-marathon to the vitality British 10k London run. WOW have held a number of exciting events which include a city Christmas fair aswell as an exciting Jimmy Choo shopping evening in Knightsbridge!
AM International Women's Day Luncheon
On Friday 11th March, we will be hosting our 8th annual International Women's Day luncheon in London where a number of inspirational, female guest speakers have been invited for a talk. We will also be fundraising on the day with all proceeds going to WOW. We trust it will be a fantastic turnout!
